Home/Services/Intensives

A different format

Intensives

Ten hours of focused therapy across two days, instead of spreading the same work over months of weekly sessions. Each intensive is run with both a mental health therapist and our physical therapist, Dr. Mary Frances Shaughnessy, DPT, because trauma lives in the body as well as the mind.

How it works

The shape of an intensive

Prep

An intake or assessment before Day One, so we know an intensive is the right fit and we start with the full picture.

Day One

Five hours of customized therapy. Goal setting, building regulation skills, and the groundwork for the days ahead.

That evening

An assignment to complete on your own, so Day One keeps working after you leave.

Day Two

Another five hours, focused on the areas of need identified on Day One.

Healing through connection

True collaboration means more than proximity

We first met each other when working with a Team of embedded providers with the Military Special Operations Forces. We were drawn to each other because of our hard work ethic and determination to provide the best care. We then started not only to collaborate but to align care. In other words co-plan, co-treat, and co-adapt.

Rachel Whipple

LCSW, RPT-S

Rachel is a clinical social worker and has been helping people rebuild from trauma for over 10 years. She is authentic and honest with her patients. She will walk along side you and adapt to your needs as you navigate the work. Not every treatment works for everyone and she is determined to find the one that is best for each individual patient.

Dr. Mary Frances Shaughnessy

DPT, Physical Therapy

Mary is a physical therapist with over 10 years of experience working with athletes and service members. She has spent 7 years working with Special Operations Forces which has fueled her fighting spirit and adaptability. She is highly educated and if she does not already know how to help you she will find the answer. Also don't let her size fool you she is fierce.

Jordan Church

BSN, Nursing

Jordan is a nurse with over 17 years of experience. She is strong willed and protective which is exactly what you want on your side when navigating medical care. She cares deeply about her patients and will work with them to find the best care possible as well as strive to break down any barriers to receiving that care.

Three tracks

Pick the one that fits

Every track follows the same two-day shape. What changes is the prep, the focus, and who is in the room.

Trauma Focused

$2,5002 days

Prep work
60 to 90 minute intake, which can be done in person or virtually, to ensure suitability for intensive and gather all necessary information.
Day One
Will consist of five hours customized therapy to include goal setting and establishing targets, building regulation skills (done with both our physical therapist and mental health provider), and resourcing.

After Day One you will be given an assignment to complete on your own that evening.

Day Two
Will consist of another five hours customized therapy focused on the identified areas of need.
Follow up
Depending on how historical the trauma is and how your body has processed it, we may recommend that you continue weekly therapy (physical or mental) following a trauma intensive. That can be done with us, with your established therapist, or we can assist you in finding a therapist in your area.

Couples

$2,5002 days, or $1,500 for 1 day

Prep work
Every couple will be asked to complete a thorough assessment prior to Day One of the intensive. This tool will provide the clinicians with a unique analysis of each individual and the couple. The assessment will also assist in identifying the couple's strengths as well as developing specific treatment recommendations.
Day One
Will consist of five hours customized therapy to include goal setting, building regulation skills (done with both our mental health therapist and physical therapist), and relationship skill building.

After Day One you will be given an assignment to complete on your own that evening.

Day Two
Will consist of another five hours customized therapy focused on the identified areas of need.
Add ons
We specialize in working with individuals and couples, particularly those from high performance or military backgrounds, who may be navigating complex emotional, relational, and physical health factors that affect their connection.
  • Erectile dysfunction and arousal challenges, from both psychological and physiological perspectives
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction, including strength, coordination, and hypotonicity
  • Education around body mechanics, techniques, and positions that enhance connection and comfort

If you are interested in an add on, please let us know and we can discuss whether additional hours would be needed or whether it will be one of the main focuses of the intensive.

Not sure an intensive is right for you? That is what the prep intake is for. It exists partly to tell us whether this format will actually serve you, and we will say so if it will not.

Ready when you are

Start with a conversation.

Intensives begin with a phone call or an email, not a booking form. Tell us what you are working through and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right fit.
